Description of the business/ project:
Orchards Farm Cottages has been in existence since 2003. All cottages are equipped for self-catering, fully air-conditioned and Hotel Suite DSTV, with the option of breakfast as well. The property is situated on the banks of the Komati River, with lush gardens all the way down to the riverbanks, ideal for birdwatching, fishing and the occasional hippo or crocodile.
The property is 3 km from the Kruger Park boundaries, but a 12 km drive to the Crocodile Bridge Gate, so the occasional stray animal from Kruger Park in winter months when the river is low, is not uncommon.
Other sightings on the property are families of dwarf mongoose, and the nocturnal genets and bush babies (greater and lesser).
